News ArchiveNew Intramural ProgramRegistration for Palumbo's new intramural program has been extended until 9/6/09! Palumbo Soccer Club is pleased to announce the start of an outdoor intramural program for young soccer players (girls and boys) aged 6-9. The program will run for 8 weeks, beginning 9/26 and ending 11/14. Practices will be Saturdays from 9:00-11:00 at the Palumbo Rec Center soccer field. If you are interested, please sign up by completing the Intramural Medical Release Form. Space is limited, so sign up soon. The registration deadline is 9/6. Questions? Email maxsmom94@comcast.net or call Vicki Hirsch Holm at 215-820-8351. Tryouts 5/30/09 & 6/13/09!Mark your calendars for Fall 2009 Soccer Tryouts! The first round of tryouts was Saturday, 5/30. If you couldn't make it then, come this Saturday, 6/13 for the final round of tryouts. Ages 6 to 10 try out from 9-10:30. Ages 11 to 13 try out from 10:30-12. The place is Starr Garden at 6th and Lombard Streets. Please bring a soccer ball and water and wear cleats and shin guards. Questions? Email cdahl@trueposition.com. Spring Soccer ClinicsPalumbo Soccer Club hosted two soccer clinics this Spring to help get the word out about our program. Clinics were held at Columbus Square Rec Center on Friday, May 1st (for U10 and younger) and May 8th (for U11 and older). Attendees came from Jackson, Nebinger, Meredith and other neighborhood schools. Thanks to all who joined us! 2008 Season HighlightsSo far this year, Palumbo Soccer had three indoor teams in the Philadelphia Dept. Rec (PDR) league (U10 boys, U12 boys, and U13 girls) and two indoor teams in the Northeast Racquet Club (NERC) Arena league (both U14 boys teams). The U10 team won their division. Currently, our U13 girls teams is playing in the Spring league with UJSL. |
